The Qualities of an ATS Employee:

Embodying Success

September 13, 2024 | Susan Bettencourt

With 20 years of experience as an HR professional and leader, I’ve observed firsthand how an employee’s qualities can profoundly influence an organization’s success. While technical skills are essential, soft skills are equally, if not more, critical. At ATS Industrial Automation, we pride ourselves on a set of core qualities that define our workforce and set us apart in the industry.

These qualities are not just a list of desirable traits but a model that every ATS employee embodies because we share the same attitude: “every day matters.” Here we will articulate what these qualities mean and how they are embodied by our employees around the world.

Passion for Automation

At the heart of every ATS employee lies a deep-seated passion for automation. Our employees are not just workers, they are passionate automation experts who live and breathe innovation. This passion drives us to intense curiosity about what is possible and invent solutions that produce exceptional results for our customers.

Safety as a Priority

The well-being of our team and customers is paramount and is at the forefront of all we do. Our number one priority is that every employee goes home safely, and we protect ourselves, our team, and our customers with utmost diligence. Safety is not just a policy; it’s a commitment to care that we all share.

Complex Problem Solving

Solving complex problems is our game! No challenge is too big or too small. Whether it’s developing a first-of-a-kind solution involving a robot installing critical nuclear reactor components or creating innovative assembly and testing systems for EV batteries or fuel cells, our team excels in solving our customers’ challenges using automated solutions.

Adaptability and Preparedness

The automation industry is dynamic, and being prepared to safely go wherever today may take us is a quality we hold in high regard. Our employees are on the lookout for future technologies, ensuring that we stay ahead of the curve and continue to be industry leaders.

Uniqueness and Belonging

Uniqueness and belonging are fundamental to a thriving and innovative workplace here at ATS Industrial Automation. When employees feel they belong and their unique perspectives are valued, they’re more engaged, motivated, and productive. This also allows us to not only attract and retain top talent but also drive overall success by harnessing the full potential of a diverse workforce.

Effective Communication

Listening is as important as speaking, and at ATS Industrial Automation, we ensure that everyone has a voice and is meant to be heard. Whether it’s a teammate or a customer, we listen for needs and communicate effectively to foster a collaborative environment.

Expertise and Precision

Applying the right tool for the job is a skill that our employees expertly possess. We leave our mark on every project, not just through our work but through the precision and expertise we bring to every task.

Continuous Learning and Growth

A hunger for new, challenging projects keeps us learning and growing. Our employees are not content with the status quo; we seek out opportunities to expand our knowledge and skills, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the automation industry.

These qualities are not just words on a page; they are the essence of what it means to be part of the ATS team. They guide our actions, shape our culture, and reflect our commitment to excellence. Our teams live these out every day. As we continue to innovate and lead in the automation industry, we do so with the confidence that our employees are the passionate automation experts that ensure: “every day matters.”

Every project is unique. Allow us to listen to your challenges and share how automation can launch your project on time.
